How to Go To An Interview

Steps
  1. Arrive in the area 30 minutes early. Find a quiet cafe and "cool off" from the commute. Iced mint tea is always nice.
  2. Keep your cool. You probably will not get the job if you let the employer see how nervous you are.

  3. Don't show off. Only answer the questions that the interviewers ask you and don't talk too much.

  4. Do not wear anything too garish or strange. Be modest. Employers like that.

  5. Be polite and don't insult the employer. Know that she or he could have many more people to interview.

  6. Do not take offense to anything the interviewer says. If they do not give you the job, do not let it stop you from trying to get another job.

  7. Be very forward in everything you say and in your actions.
  8. Try not to confuse the employer. Be careful of what you say and realize that your employment is on the line!

Tips
  • Dress more formally than you would on a typical day on that job. If you are trying to get a job in construction, you should still wear a suit.

  • Be very serious during the interview. If you are trying to get a job in construction, you still want to be serious.

  • Say things to impress the employer. Sound educated. Do not go into an interview showing off the latest slang.

  • If at all possible wear a blue shirt. The color Blue will show that you are a reliable worker because of the effect is has on human eyes. It's true, wear blue.

  • Do not walk into the interview half-asleep or on a caffeine-high.
Warnings
  • Never say anything offensive to the employer because it will eventually get around that you are a "hothead."

  • Never take it personally if you do not get a job. Just try again.

  • Avoid cologne or perfume, unless you are trying to distract or inflict a headache on the interviewer.
