Job Search Research
JobMetaSeek is the largest and most complete job search and career center on
the Internet. If it is about jobs, or job hunting skills, you can find it here.
We offer more than 100,000 links to all types of job and career resources for
nearly every occupation, profession and industry. Take the Site Tour
and see how this site can make your job search more efficient and productive.
The Research Directory is a comprehensive list of links to research resources including economic or financial search engines, and specialized industry or business databases. An important part of your job search preparation is research. When you research an industry, company, or occupation, you gain the information you need to focus the direction of your job search. Research can be done on occupations, industries, individual companies, availability of jobs in your area, outlook and on other subjects. If you intend to be a serious candidate for a management, professional, or executive position, you should never go to an interview without reviewing the material available on the company, key executives, the industry, markets, major competitors and outlook. Employers expect candidates to care enough about the position to do some basic research and demonstrate this knowledge during the interview. Managers, professionals and executives are usually articulate individuals with excellent career and track records. They often do poorly in interviews because of a lack of serious preparation, and the belief that their accomplishments will speak for themselves. Unfortunately accomplishments don't speak for themselves and a well-prepared candidate with highly-developed interview skills and a knowledge of the company's competitive environment often gets a position over a better qualified candidate that was poorly prepared. Company web sites can be located using the United States Company Directory, the Canadian Company Directory or the Company Meta Search Engine. The Research Directory links to more than 100 Sites useful in researching companies, industry segments and overall economic trends and outlooks. Research links are added and deleted on a regular basis.
